The Moreland School District is excited to offer English classes to our community! These classes are open to all Moreland community members who have students in their families who are currently enrolled in the district. There will be both virtual and in person options. Classes will be held twice weekly and cost $30 per person to cover materials. Classes begin the week of September 26th.

The required annual First Day Packet is available online through Aeries Parent Portal now through September 27, 2022. This online portal asks you to review emergency contact information, review required annual notifications, and check permissions for your student. After mid-September, parents can go into the office to update contact information.

If you have a returning student:
Your Aeries Portal log-in is the same as last year (parent email on file with the District). Simply click here to log-in: https://morelandsd.asp.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx . If you don’t remember your password, click the “Forgot password” link to have a temporary one sent to your email.



If you have a new student:
You were automatically sent an email from Aeries Parent Portal from “[email protected]” when you enrolled your student(s) in the online enrollment system. Open that email and follow the instructions to log in to your Aeries Parent Portal account. If you cannot find this email in your Inbox, be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder as well. If you still don’t find it, please check with your child’s school site to confirm the email that is on file with the District.

California Meals for All begins in the 2022-23 School Year!
Moreland School District Child Nutrition Services has been offering free meals for all students during the 2021-22 school year thanks to temporary flexibilities granted by USDA waivers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, CA Meals for All, a statewide program offering Universal Meals for all school children, is set to begin in the 2022-23 school year, which allows us to continue providing 100% free meals for 100% of kids! CA Meals for All ensures daily access to free breakfast and free lunch for all K- 8 and Anderson Preschool students, regardless of program eligibility. These benefits families at all income levels! Moreland School District will continue to hold to high quality and nutrition standards, which meet or exceed guidelines provided by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and California Department of Education (CDE).

We are excited to welcome everyone back to school on Wednesday, August 17. You will be able to see your child's classroom and teacher's name on August 16th. Please check your emails for back to school information. Breakfast and lunch are available for all students. Your child can bring a backpack to class but they do not need any school supplies. If you kept a district Chromebook over the summer, please send the Chromebook back with your child on the first day of school. We cannot wait to see everyone on August 17th!

Open Enrollment for new students begins January 5, 2022 for the 2022/2023 school year! Here’s what you need to know:
Students who turn 5 between September 2, 2022 - February 2, 2023 can apply for free Transitional Kindergarten. This is a new extended date.
Students who turn 5 by September 1, 2022 can apply for Kindergarten.
Intradistrict Transfer Requests are only accepted in the month of March (March 1 - March 31, 2022).
If you are a returning student, you are automatically enrolled for the following year.

Free testing is available Monday - Friday, before and after school at the Moreland School District Office (4711 Campbell Avenue, San Jose). Testing takes place Monday through Friday, on days when school is in session, from 7:30am - 8:30am and after school from 2:15pm - 4:00pm. We also have testing on site on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:00 - 3:30. Parents can best support our schools by making sure their children are registered for the rapid Antigen testing through Primary Health here. Schools will continue to test staff, volunteers and students who are symptomatic, as needed.

If families can not make any of the district office testing hours, here is a list of community testing sites in the area. In addition, any FDA-approved over-the-counter (at-home) test may also be used (If positive, take a picture of results with the child's name and date of test written on the test, and email the picture to the office). Please notify your school of any positive COVID test and send the results to [email protected].

We will be celebrating our fifth-graders moving to middle school with a short promotion celebration on June 10th at 8:30 am. Parents and family members can enter the campus at 8:15 am to find a seat outside on the field. We will give families time after the celebration to take photos on campus. We ask that all family members are off campus by 9:45 so that students can come out for recess. You can check out your child and take them home early to continue celebrating with loved ones or they can stay on campus with their classmates until 12:00 dismissal. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to celebrating your children.

We are excited to be having a Spring Festival this year. The festival will be on Saturday, May 14, from 11:00 - 2:00. The festival will be outside. This is a community event plus a fundraiser for our Home and School Club. We hope everyone can join us!

Every Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:30 you can pick up 7 dinner meals and 7 snacks for each of your children who attend Anderson. The meal pick-up is curbside in the front of the school. You can drive-thru or walk up to pick up meals. Please be ready to tell the cafeteria worker how many children in your household attend Anderson. Thank you!

There is no school from December 20th to January 2nd. The front office and campus will be closed for these two weeks. We wish everyone a peaceful, healthy, and joyous holiday season. School will reopen on January 3, 2022.
