Anderson offers unique and engaging English classes to parents of Anderson students. Many parents expressed interest in the class with the goal of helping their child succeed in school. Each week, the class will engage in English lessons aimed at helping parents learn the fundamentals of English, how to communicate with their child's teacher, and build community with other Anderson parents. The classes will also have parent resource sessions where parents will have the opportunity to hear from school staff like the counselor and principal to learn about child development, how to read their child's report card, tips on how to support their students with reading and math at home, and more!
Classes take place every Wednesday from 8:05am - 9:30am
Parent Project’s unique program in Spanish and English works closely with Santa Clara County’s District Attorney’s office and the San Jose Police Department focusing on at-risk adolescent behaviors such as poor academic performance, truancy, drug or alcohol use, and involvement or interest in gangs. The only one of its kind in the nation, this parent program has provided second chances for over 200 families in both English and Spanish.
