Holiday Break

There is no school from December 20th to January 2nd. The front office and campus will be closed for these two weeks. We wish everyone a peaceful, healthy, and joyous holiday season. School will reopen on January 3, 2022.

Parent Conferences - Calendar Here

Conferences begin on November 15th for all grade levels. It is important to attend your child’s conference. Conferences are a time to speak with your child’s teacher about their current progress in class and upcoming learning goals. Please see the November calendar by clicking the heading of this announcement for dismissal times during conferences and days with no school in November.

Food Drive

Dear Moreland Community,

We are so excited to launch our Food Drive next week, benefiting West Valley Community Services (WVCS). Moreland has partnered with West Valley Community Services for over five years, with a bike rodeo, back to school supply shopping, financial support for pre-pandemic summer camps, family case management, and most recently with the Park It Market food pantry truck. West Valley Community Services was recently featured in a San Jose Mercury News article.

Beginning next week, December 6-10, 2021, barrels and boxes will be available at each school site for canned drive collections. For one short week, we encourage families and students to bring in items that will make a difference to our own local Moreland community. WVCS has a big need for:


Meals in a can (soup, stew, chili)
Low sodium canned vegetables
Canned fruit in its own juice/water
Canned foods with pop-top lids
Pasta & pasta sauce
Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts)
Rice
Mac and Cheese
Peanut Butter


Please avoid items packed in glass. WVCS does not accept expired, opened, or broken cans, packages, or boxes.

Complete the Alternative Household Application

Since the 2021/2022 school year is serving meals at no cost to Moreland students, it is important that families complete the Alternative Household Application income application before September 25, 2021. Moreland receives funding based on students that qualify for free/reduced meal applications. Learn more here.

Aeries Parent Portal

This is a reminder that the Aeries Parent Portal closes on September 17, 2021.
The required annual First Day Packet is available online through Aeries Parent Portal now through September 17, 2021. This online portal asks you to review emergency contact information, review required annual notifications, and check permissions for your student. After mid-September, parents can go into the office to update their contact information.

If you have a returning student:
Your Aeries Portal log-in is the same as last year (parent email on file with the District). Simply click here to log-in: https://morelandsd.asp.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx .
If you don’t remember your password, click the “Forgot password” link to have a temporary one sent to your email.

If you have a new student:
You were automatically sent an email from Aeries Parent Portal from “[email protected]” when you enrolled your student(s) in the online enrollment system. Open that email and follow the instructions to log in to your Aeries Parent Portal account. If you cannot find this email in your Inbox, be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder as well. If you still don’t find it, please check with your child’s school site to confirm the email that is on file with the District.

2021-22 School Year - Enroll Now!

The 2021- 22 School year begins on Thursday, August 19th in person, regular schedule. We are currently planning for next year and actively enrolling students. TK and Kindergarten enrollment is open as well as upper grades if you recently moved into the area. If you need help with enrollment please contact the enrollment center. TK entry- your child must turn 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd. Kindergarten entry - your child must be 5 by September 1st.

Summer Meals

Meal service is open this summer for meal pick-ups on Wednesdays from 11:45 to1:00 pm. There is more information on the linked flyer. The pick-up locations are Payne and Latimer.

June 2021 Details

All devices, iPads, Chromebooks, chargers, and hot spots need to be returned to the classroom on June 10th. Students who are in distance learning need to return all devices on Monday, June 14th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. There is a schedule change on Friday, June 11th for the last day of school. AM Cohort - 8:00 to 9:45 and PM Cohort 10:45 to 12:30.
