Upcoming No School Days & Schedule Changes

This is a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther Jr.'s birthday. There is no school on Friday, February 7th. The 7th is a staff professional development day. Friday, February 14th is an early release day for all students: TK-K 11:55, 1st -5th 1:30. There will be no school the week of February 17th.

Incoming TK & Kindergarten Tours for the 2020-21 School Year

If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten next school year you are invited to attend one of our upcoming TK-K tours. We will share information about our program, discuss how you can help your child at home, and we will tour our classrooms. Our tours will be on Friday, January 24th at 8:30 am and Friday, February 28th at 8:30 am. We look forward to meeting you.

MEF Fund Drive - Show Your Love for Moreland

Show Your Love for Moreland! The Moreland Education Foundation's annual fund drive kicks off during the love-filled month of February! Your donations to MEF help pay for music classes and instruments, mural, Try It Truck, Kimochis and other activities at Anderson and throughout the district. Please Show Your Love for Moreland and donate at www.mefhome.org/fund-drive, then join MEF's general meeting on January 21, 7 PM in the District Office to learn more about how your donations help Moreland excel. 💟💟💟

Moreland Board of Trustees Seeks a Facilities Bond in March 2020

At the November 12th Board of Trustees meeting, the Board passed a Bond Resolution to place a Facilities Bond on the March 2020 ballot. Outreach sessions to all schools, parent organizations, and community groups took place last spring and the data analyzed of the types of categories needed, the support of our voters, and the review of our bond capacity took place this fall. It was determined that if passed in March, this Bond would support safety and maintenance concerns across the district, as well as improved facilities for students and staff.

TB clinic

Annually, the district provides a TB clinic for staff and parent volunteers to update their TB results. You may also update your TB results with your physician and/or medical provider.
This year, the district will have a registered nurse on site at the District Office who will perform a verbal risk assessment for TB. No shots!! There is no cost to parent volunteers to use the TB risk assessment clinic.
We will be conducting the walk-in TB risk assessment clinic 3:00 p.m.—4:30 p.m. at the District Office on the following dates. There is no need to pre-register:
December 3, 2019
December 10, 2019
December 17, 2019
Please see your office staff for a Risk Assessment form; fill it out and bring it with you. You will meet briefly with the nurse to review your responses. If you do not have any of the risk factors associated with TB, the nurse will sign your form, we'll make a copy for our records, give you a copy, and you’ll be good for another four years.

Parent - Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences begin on November 14th for TK- 3rd-grade students and continue through the week of November 18th. Parent-teacher conferences begin on November 18th for 4th and 5th-grade students. Please note the schedule changes during conferences. You can click the heading of this announcement for the complete schedule. It is important to attend your child’s conference. Teachers are looking forward to conferences in order to have meaningful discussions about your child’s progress and share samples of classwork that demonstrate your child’s growth since the beginning of the school year. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Save the Date!

Back to School Night is Wednesday, August 28th. We will begin the night in the cafeteria at 6:00 pm. After the cafeteria, you will visit your child's classroom. In the classroom, you will learn more about the upcoming year from your child's teacher. Classrooms will be open until 7:00 pm.
