Anderson's 2025 People of the Year

Volunteers of the Year: Karen Sherwood and Manuela Chan

Karen and Manuela teach the adult English classes to Anderson parents and community members. Their unwavering support has built both knowledge and confidence in their students. We are so appreciative of their warm approach and hands-on learning experiences.

Classified Employee of the Year: Darice Funk

Darice is Anderson's full-time school counselor. She meets with students in small groups, one on one counseling, and classroom lessons. She is incredibly knowledgeable and empathetic. Darice is often collaborating with colleagues and families to share strategies in her social-emotional toolkit which ensures Anderson's students are supported both at school and at home.

Teacher of the Year: Laura DuMont

Laura is Anderson's 3rd-5th grade Math TOSA (teacher on special assignment). As a TOSA, Laura teaches both enrichment and intervention classes and groups to our 3rd-5th grade students. Her lessons often include hands-on activities to engage Anderson's students in learning anchored in experiences. She also plans with the 3rd-5th grade teaching teams providing resources and support to teachers and participates in extra activities on campus like helping to coach the Anderson Girls on the Run team and running the weekly estimation station.

Congratulations to all of this year's recipients! We appreciate all that you do to support our Anderson community.
